Who Are We?

Fulfilling a life long dream, Amber Martin opened Harmony Society in September 2013 as a way to share her love of vintage clothing and modern handmade goods. By mid-2014 Harmony Society was beginning to outgrow it's small 600 sq. foot space, so Martin moved the shop to its current location at 136 West High Street, expanding to include a yarn shop, workspace and soon-to-be garden. Harmony Society now functions as an independent department store, carrying a wide range of yarn & knitting supplies, gift items & vintage clothing for both men and women.
Martin believes strongly in supporting American, Fair Trade, and sustainably produced goods. This means that many items in the shop have been carefully sourced with quality and process in mind. Secondhand items are chosen with the utmost care, focusing on condition, materials and pattern.
Martin graduated from Moore College of Art & Design in 1999 with a BFA in Fashion & Textile Design. She is an avid knitter, cat lover and thrifter who spends her free time traveling the tri-state area in search of unique items for the shop.
We are currently in the process of expanding our yarn & knitting department.  Many of the items we carry in our shop are not available online at this time.  However, if there is something we have that you are looking for we will gladly ship to you. We take orders over the phone (717)-462-4703 or via email at harmonysocietypa@gmail.com
Some of the brands we carry are: Noro, Madelinetosh, Peace Fleece, Quince & Company, Fibre Company, Ito, Manos del Uruguay, Juniper Moon, Ella Rae, Berroco, Cascade, Crystal Palace, Knitters Pride, and Fringe Supply Company
